Dreaming big is in our DNA at heymama. It’s how we motivate ourselves and each other to reach for the stars. When our friends at Mixbook asked us to put together an interactive, creative and inspiring family event, we signed up without hesitation. Our working mom community is busy all week long, so we knew that an opportunity to reconnect with other influential and creative mamas, bloggers and entrepreneurs would be the perfect weekend treat. It turns out that others thought our plan was a good one too, because the event sold out in only 4 days! Note to self: more events with bubbles! Check out the incredible brands that got involved to bring this to life and some of our favorite photos from this highly memorable heymama event, Create Celebrate Color.
Hedley & Bennett, Downtown LA
We invited our community of powerful mom entrepreneurs, creatives and influencers in the LA-area to join us at the amazing working factory of Hedley & Bennett. Not only do they create custom aprons in every color under the sun, their building is painted with the most splendid rainbow color-blocking! It was the perfect introduction for snapping a few pics for the ‘gram and priming the guests for all we had in store.

The photo taking didn’t stop at the giant rainbow wall! We had a rainbow swing, a rainbow ball pit, rainbow balloons and rainbow colored food! Why stop at a good thing?! Thanks to our extraordinary event producers Bonjour Fete and But First Party, the warehouse was transformed into a technicolor dream land that no one wanted to leave (the sign of a party well done if we do say so ourselves!).
Mixbook, our partner extraordinaire invited guests to experience their fully customizable photo products first hand in their superhero-themed photobooth. Because moms are basically super hero’s anyway, amiright? We’re not sure if the kids or parents liked this most, but it definitely took family photos up a few notches and Mixbook emailed and printed all of the pics in real-time.

The littles were invited to zip down the rainbow slide and jump in the ball pit while mamas snuck away for a moment of pampering with a mani from the nail goddesses at Tenoverten. Learn more about serial entrepreneur and Tenoverten mom founder Nadine Abramcyk. Rugs, pillows and throws from H&M HOME made the suite the perfect escape from the mayhem below.
We loved seeing so many mamas in our community connect and catch up and we’re over the moon with how many women have found friends, business partners and expanded their support network to help their companies grow. We suspect there are many more heymama collaborations in the works and we can’t wait to see what these mamas dream up.

If you want our #1 tip on how to take a kids party next level, look no further than Harry from The Bubble Playground. This awesome bubble show was interactive and awe-inducing with bubbles in every shape, form and color. From giant bubbles that swallowed up the littles to tiny bubbles that burst into balls of smoke, we’re still blown away by the creativity and talent in this magical show.
Harry from The Bubble Playground mesmerizes the crowd.
Let’s not forget about the food. All about the food truck over here! Our friends at Puesto created the most incredible Mexican fiesta that we are still dreaming of (fried cheese anyone?!) complete with tacos, guac and rainbow-colored cupcakes with miniature churro toppers. I mean, does it get any better than that?!

And last but not least, as guest departed from the fun-filled day they were treated to heymama gift bags overflowing with goodies from our partners: Mixbook, H&M Home, Pipsticks, Kitsch, Sticky B Socks, Real Kids Shades, Nyakio, Tenoverten, Maker’s Mess, Primally Pure, Petunia Pickle Bottom, Amy Tangerine, Monica & Andy and Sockabu.
