Every year the HeyMama community joins together for our marquee event of the summer, Strong Like a Mama. For the past 3 years, we’ve snuck away to the Hamptons for some much needed reflection, exercise and pampering but this year, we wanted to make this event even bigger. As our community has continued to grow year over year, we thought, why should this event be only accessible to our NY-area mamas? So, with some intense planning and support of our Local Community Managers, we went as big as we could possibly go and brought the event to 7 cities nationwide – and it was awesome.
We believe that as mamas, fitness and mindfulness should be at the top of our priority list. We are responsible not only for our own bodies and minds, but also for the well-being of our little ones. As summer is a time to slow things down, we’ve dedicated this time each year for extra self-care as a strong foundation makes the juggle so much easier. Each year we walk away from this event fulfilled and inspired to take on the second part of the year with a little extra clarity than before.
Strength is being vulnerable. Learning to show emotion in areas, which then allows us to connect and grow authentically.

Each event was unique to their city and embodied what makes each city’s chapter thrive. From the swaying palm trees in San Francisco to the epic views of New York City as the sun went down, it was a celebration of the women that calls each place home.
When mamas arrived, they were welcomed with open arms and a grounding celebration from meditations to energy circles before moving on to a workout that was good for the soul. Following the sweat sesh, mamas were treated to a panel discussion that touched upon the challenges and triumphs that we face on a daily basis as we juggle being the best business women and mother’s we can be. We dove into where we gained our strength, what our perception of health was and added in some parenting advice to help us navigate the interception of it all. And last, mamas were treated to some pampering like massages, facials, eyebrow shaping and B12 shots to name a few. I think it’s safe to say we all left vowing to take time to care for ourselves more often. It felt like heaven.

When a group of mamas come together and say YES to a day of self-care the energy around that is super powerful. It’s a declaration to the universe that as much as we give as mothers, we also need to receive. There is a magic in that message, and it was felt that day!

Without a doubt, bringing this city across the nation was huge undertaking but one that we feel we crushed. Even so, we know we couldn’t be more proud with the results of the hard work of our entire HeyMama team. Our Community Managers in each city went above and beyond to make the events special and we know that the feedback from our members was nothing short of tremendous. We’re already thinking about ways to expand to more cities next year.
Gift bags were next level, the activations were amazing and the food was absolutely perfect. We’d like to give a huge our incredible sponsors and partners including; BluePrint Organics, EighteenB, Hickies, Honor MD, OWYN, Petite Plume, Rael, Richer Poorer/ Pointe Studio, Right Rice, Foria, Ember, Adorn Beauty, Taja Collection, WTHN, Her Vital Way, Kate McLeod, Sabria’s Brows and more.
It was so inspiring to take part in this collective journey of spirit, strength, and self-discovery and we can’t wait to do it again next year. We hope you’ll join us!
