About Amy
Hi! I'm a mom of 3 VERY active boys, thank goodness I'm active too! I start my day at 5AM getting up and out to workout before my family stirs. I believe in working hard, playing hard, lots of love, homemade food and being elegantly casual. After 8 years in the corporate world, I went back to school (for 5 years) to pursue nutrition and wellness. I've had my own practice Real Nutrition NYC for 10 years and my slogan is: Real Food. Real Life. Real Solutions. I provide a realistic approach to nutrition so you can live your life not your diet

Best advice you've ever been given

1. You can.
2. Experience is the best teacher.
3. Man plans, G-d laughs. Be flexible not defeated.

Personal Passions, Charities, Hobbies:

I am passionate about being outdoors, hiking, being at one with nature yet not full blown camping. I am always moving, I think better when I move and I truly enjoy alone time. I am passionate about my family and raising grounded children in a crazy world. I love music and laughter, sarcasm and schedules. I love learning and reading and people watching, I can watch people all day, anywhere. As a family we support many different charities some we are personally touched by, others we just firmly believe in and some that we want to learn more about. As a business owner I support and donate to many schools and auctions. I am currently looking for more opportunities to include my children in charity work and most recently have gotten us all involved in City Harvest and in donating to our troops and children and families in need.

Name one thing that scares the shit out of you:

Failing my children

What is one thing that would be game-changing for your business right now?

Adding a few more high profile clients to my roster. I'm at a tipping point and that exposure can give me the nudge I need to make the changes I am afraid to make. Also, an awesome assistant or another dietitian.

If you could tell your 20 year old self one thing, what would it be?

Some old stories stick around, use them to your advantage and turn them into a career you don't think you are smart enough to take on. Trust yourself, trust your gut, you are smarter than you think you are and more focused than you can imagine.

Why do you want to be a part of heymama?

I enjoy networking with other creative and smart women who know what it means to be a mom and be in business. I enjoying sharing ideas, helping others and supporting women. I have the desire to grow my business, learn more about what else is out there and to connect with driven and passionate individuals. As an entrepreneur it can be lonely working for yourself and by yourself, I think having a network helps you to stay motivated, driven and up on the latest ideas and tips. I also love any opportunities to collaborate on projects with other people/companies and to grow.
