Life's not a dress rehearsal.
& Bring your own sunshine.
Don't let what you want get in the way of being grateful for what you have.
Don't be afraid to ask. But if it's not a question, don't end the sentence as if it is.
- Endlessly walking the streets of NY and checking my compulsive lists of shops/restaurants/bars/cafes to make sure I hit whatever's nearby
- Spending time cooking with my mom or walking the beach with my family
- Obsessing over Twitter
- Trying to make a dent in the stacks of periodicals to which I subscribe
- Mentoring through Cornell and Columbia, advising companies in the NY Fashion Tech Lab and XRC (retail tech) Labs, and sitting on the National Advisory Board of The Birthday Party Project (throws birthday parties for kids in homeless shelters)
Successfully pilot Box The Party during a beta test and then build an e-commerce platform that looks inspiring and has a product assortment I'm proud to market.
The people I love dying.
A ton of party goods wholesalers who want to drop ship to me at great prices lined up at my door.
Be patient and humble and accepting.
I draw energy from spending time with people so I'd love to meet more, especially at this mom/business intersection. I find something fun or useful comes out of nearly every interaction I have. One of the biggest compliments I received in recent memory was a Twitter friend calling me out among a few other women as going out of my way to support other women without competitiveness. I'd be really excited to be part of a group of women who get together (virtually and physically) to support each other in both work and life/motherhood.
