Deanna Nalbandian

Cordially Owner / Designer Graphic Designer Studio City, CA
About Deanna
I am a wife, mom and business owner. My company Cordially focuses on branding for creative businesses and custom wedding invitations (as seen in Inside Weddings Magazine). I recently expanded with my own retail and wholesale stationery line. I am born and raised in California and have always been a people person. I have a type-A personality, highly organized and punctual yet my artistic side allows me to appreciate the abstract and the messy.

Power of positivity

Best advice you've ever been given

Don't be afraid. You want something, ask for it.

What special skill, talent or gift would you like to give back to the community?

Aside from my branding and design services, I would love to teach creative businesses the basics of design and plan a seminar for Creative Suite skills.

Personal Passions, Charities, Hobbies:

I am a member of AIGA, The American Institute of Graphic Arts. Annually I collaborate with a colleague to create a parenting, pregnancy and baby expo where we give opportunity for vendors to showcase and sell, but also raise money toward a charity or cause that has to do with children. In September the cause was The Journey, organized by Taguhi Oganyan who helps children with cancer. My personal passions and hobbies are painting, psychology, research/writing, dogs, dessert and travel.

What is your biggest business challenge right now?

Attaining wholesale accounts for my new stationery line.

What do you want to achieve in 2018, personally and professionally?

My goal for Cordially is to become a more exclusive brand for black tie events and luxury stationery. For my annual baby expo Bibs and Bellies, I would love to grow the numbers of both vendors and attendees. As a mother, I would love to begin considering baby number 2!

Name one thing that scares the shit out of you:

Anything harmful toward my baby.

What is one thing that would be game-changing for your business right now?

Collaborating with influencers and my dream retail stores (Paper Source, Anthropologie, Target).

If you could tell your 20 year old self one thing, what would it be?

Be a little bit more selfish. Impress yourself, not others. Take care of you.

Why do you want to be a part of heymama?

I think the networking aspect of it is astounding for moms who also balance work—but also the personal relationships you gain from people of common interests/lifestyles are priceless. It's also a great way to find that work-life balance by playing a more active role in the community as well as bettering ourselves as parents and professionals concurrently.
