Do everything in love
This is a bit corny but it's literally my north star for all things in life. It's the waves in life that make it so wonderful but when the big ones come I can sometimes lose my bearing. Whether I'm celebrating successes or reflecting on tough lessons, I try to find my bearing but remembering everything I do should be with love. Remembering love is above all things, helps me stay focused on what matters and gives me purpose.
It's actually 4 defining principles from my favorite Dean
- Confidence without attitdue
- Question the status quo
- Beyond yourself
- Student always
I'm a skin care junkie and believe wellness for the outside is as important as the inside - I'm always on the lookout for great products, get facials when I can, and do a face masks twice a week
I also love the psychology behind early child development. Understanding and accepting where your child is harder than it seems.
After 3 years of hard work bringing the Joy Album to life, my goal is for Joy to connect families around their life stories again - including mine. Two years ago, my mom who lives in Asia, was paralyzed from the waist down. It was hard for my young kids to maintain a close relationship with her an ocean apart. We FaceTime'd, but the kids were often distracted by apps or had little to say. Now they leave messages for the grandparents on the Joy Album, they call each other and live screen share albums to recount their latest swimming accomplishment. The direction of technology is both amazing and scary when I think about my children's future. My hope is to contribute to technology that brings families together, to celebrate the stories that bind us instead of the ones that separate us.
