About Jennifer
I am mom of 3 boys! Jonah age 11, Oliver age 3, and Everett (aka "The Forgotten Child") age 13 months. I have been a married mom, a divorced mom, a single mom, a full time working single mom, a remarried working mom, and then a stay at home tired mom. My blog, which I founded in 2007 has always been an outlet for me to share candid stories of my life and also some life hacks, tips, tricks along the way. Work wise, my background started in TV production but after the birth of my first son, I realized 18 hour days on set was probably not going to work for us, so I switched gears and luckily found what sort of changed the course of my entire career-- I started writing for a parenting site called MomLogic.com which was run by Telepictures. From there I went on to Manage other parenting sites and editorial franchises. Starting 2012, I worked as a web strategist and writer for a division of McGraw-HIll. All the while, I focused on my blog and worked as a brand ambassador etc for various brands. My long term goal/ dream is to write (as in, get paid for it) for TV and Film.

Whatever Works

What special skill, talent or gift would you like to give back to the community?

Our second son Oliver was born with a Vascular Anamoly (a lymphatic Malformation on his chest and under arm). We spent much of his first year at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. That experience changed us forever and now we are extremely active in supporting and fundraising. In 2016, I launched We Are Lucky, a fundraiser to support the social work team there. I would love to share my experience and expertise with how to do an event and online fundraiser - and work with any other like minded mamas who are trying to raise a family, support their family, but also give back to the community and/or certain cause.

What is your biggest business challenge right now?

Time Management & Productivity

What do you want to achieve in 2018, personally and professionally?

My goal is to finish writing a pilot this year (well, 2019) and turn more ideas and stories into concepts that can sell.

What is one thing that would be game-changing for your business right now?

If someone read my work, or came to a show I'm doing and decided they wanted to hire me as a screenwriter and /or develop my blog and stories into a series.... AHHHMAZING

Why do you want to be a part of heymama?

My intention for joining to meet successful, ambitious, brilliant women who have that drive and productivity that I'm so desperately missing and needing right now. I'm looking to connect and gain access not only to local events, but to potential job leads and also ways I can support and help other entrepreneurs.
