Jordan Reid

Ramshackle Glam CEO & Founder Writing Woodland Hills, CA
About Jordan
Hi! My name is Jordan Reid, and I'm the founder and editor of Ramshackle Glam. I grew up in NYC, studied cognitive neuroscience at Harvard, and worked as an actress (It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, ER, et) for over a decade before starting RG. I've written two parenting and style memoirs (Ramshackle Glam and Carrying On), and the bestselling The Big Fat Activity Book for Pregnant People. My next book, The Big Activity Book for Anxious People, will be released by Penguin Random House early next year. I've also hosted a few shows for Allure Magazine, Meredith Video Studios, and the FYI network. On RG, I've conceptualized and executed integrations for well over a hundred companies, including eBay, Noritake China, Clorox, Fairlife, Eucerin, and Ace Hardware. I'm currently branching out into creating content for brands in-house (as opposed to just integrated content for my own website), and am considering making the leap to working for a brand or agency full-time.

What special skill, talent or gift would you like to give back to the community?

I've always been a huge believer in sharing the information that other people don't want to share, because I believe that there's room for all of us to succeed. As an example, on RG, I'm constantly writing about money and "making it work": how I make a living as a professional blogger, how I bought a house, how I got a HELOC loan, and so on. I think we - meaning creative women - are taking over the world, and we all need to give each other a hand up whenever and wherever possible.

What is your biggest business challenge right now?

Leadership & Scale

Why do you want to be a part of heymama?

I'm in a transitional moment in my career - moving away from a business model based largely on integrations into a personal website, and towards finding brands in search of in-house content creation. I'm also currently separating from my husband and moving from San Jose to Los Angeles...and it's...a lot. I could use some guidance and support as I start to shape this new chapter in my career, and I've heard great things about you guys :)

xx Jordan Reid
