Kathryn Giarratano

Amour Absolu Owner/Designer Design Golden, Co
About Kathryn
I’m a Denver native married to my high school sweetheart. We have 2 darling daughters, Giuliana (6.5) and Layla (4). I started my company after our older daughter was born when I saw a need in the fine jewelry market for personalized jewelry that didn’t have letters or birthstones. Since the launch of Amour Absolu (French for ‘unconditional love’) I have customized pieces for women all over the country, including a handful of celebrities, using the numbers of diamonds in a piece to represent a name, number of children/family members, anniversaries, etc. In addition to designing for my collection I have become a diamond wholesaler and have the great honor of creating custom wedding rings and redesigns. I’m currently in the process of creating a business in the fine jewelry industry that is still requiring signatures of an NDA :)
In my spare time - which isn’t much with my business and family - I like to golf with my husband, travel to Maui, Palm Beach, and Scottsdale. (Clearly I hate the snow). I enjoy arts and crafts, playing American Girl dolls, and running around outside with my girls. My new love is my Peloton and my forever love is kombucha (which we have on tap at home!) and healthy food.

What special skill, talent or gift would you like to give back to the community?

I have helped a few friends both locally and nationally avoid some of the mistakes I’ve made starting my own business - especially in the world of fine jewelry. When you venture out on your own, you’re bound to learn a handful of things the hard way. If I can help women in that capacity I would find that very fulfilling.
Additionally, I would love to meet anyone one-on-one to simply bounce ideas off of. Sometimes one small comment can change the entire trajectory of your business... for the better.

What is your biggest business challenge right now?

Marketing & Social Media

What is one thing that would be game-changing for your business right now?

Connecting with the right fashion jewelry producer.

Why do you want to be a part of heymama?

I look forward to connecting with the local women of HEYMAMA because I think motherhood is one of life’s greatest blessings and joys but I, too, find myself *bursting* with a desire to be the successful business woman I know is inside of me. Denver is such a wonderful city with creativity on every corner. I look forward to connecting with wonderful women both locally and nationally to bond over motherhood, business, and the craziness of trying to keep all the balls in the air!
