Collaborating, Consulting, Networking
"One can never be over-dressed or over-educated." - Oscar Wilde
To realize that you do not need to have anxiety about failures or missed opportunities - nothing truly intended for you will pass you by!
I am very passionate about giving back. I am a FIFA World Cup Soccer veteran. This year, we launched The Nartey Sports Foundation to support sports-related interventions for underserved youth. I sit on the board of Swan Within, Inc., a nonprofit that uses ballet as an intervention for sex-trafficked, incarcerated juvenile girls. I also sit on the Board of Saint Bernard High School that is acclaimed for its single-gender STEM program. I am a very involved mommy, and I volunteer my time in leadership roles at my children's schools - and of course as a their soccer coach! Besides all of this, I LOVE fashion, and I have a column in a SELLEBRITY digital magazine called "Luxury Thesis." Through luxury brand partnerships, I blog my eccentric perspective on beautiful things. This is just pure joy for me!
This year is off to an amazing start! My husband and I were just named a "2018 LA Power Couple" by Angeleno and LA Confidential Magazines. I am really humbled and motivated to knock it out of the park this year! I plan to grow my RCAP membership significantly and to increase revenue through the corporate sponsorship model that I implemented last year. I want to increase my company and personal social media following. I also have some significant fundraising goals to hit through our foundation.
I think I just need to pursue bigger platforms to increase visibility. I know from the feedback of my membership that they value the service that I am offering, and there aren't really any competitors. I have determined that I really need to focus on networking and collaborating to scale this up!
I would teach my 20 year old self about compassionate dignity: When people hurt you, it is not a reflection of who you are, it is a reflection of where they are and where they need to grow.
I had the awesome opportunity to attend "Setting Money Goals & Making Dreams A Reality" with Heidi Stevens. I was really excited about the chance to interact with like-minded mothers, to learn, to share, and to explore synergies. I know that this community is the "tribe" I have been pining for!
