Bump Bestie Founder Consulting Los Angeles, California
About Molly
I knew after having my son, Britt, that I wanted to somehow support families - whether they were expecting, adopting or had little ones at home already. When I was pregnant, I was completely consumed with finding the right baby products for my family and I spent the majority of my time Googling or I’d ask friends for advice. Not only was it overwhelming, but I spent hours researching and sifting through an oversaturated and ever-changing baby market.

Realizing that “one-size-doesn’t-fit-all,” I started Bump Bestie to help expecting families through one of life’s toughest and most exciting journeys: becoming a parent – by providing comprehensive support to make the transition into parenthood less confusing and time consuming. With a focus on non-toxic and eco-friendly products, I work to guide and empower families through the unfamiliar by providing personalized product recommendations and tips for creating a safe nursery and home environment. More recently, Bump Bestie now offers introductory course workshops to provide ongoing education in addition to a wide range of maternity and concierge services.

Prior to becoming a mama, I earned my MBA from USC’s Marshall School of Business and spent 10+ years in brand strategy, partnership development and marketing consulting in the lifestyle, health and wellness, sports and entertainment and fashion industries. I still find time to occasionally take on outside marketing projects working with entrepreneurs to grow their brands.

What special skill, talent or gift would you like to give back to the community?

Before starting my business, I consulted as a brand strategist with startups and feel that I can be a resource for others looking for input on marketing strategy and partnership opportunities.

What is your biggest business challenge right now?

As a new business, my biggest challenge right now is client acquisition.

My business is largely referral based and I'm also in the process of educating parents that my type of service even exists. I've been fortunate to have had a few great clients so far but I'm looking to have more consistency and brand awareness overall.

What do you want to achieve in 2018, personally and professionally?

My goal for the rest of the year is to be about me. Since having my son, I haven't been able to focus on my own health and wellness and I'd like to find more time to focus on that.

Professionally, I'd like to engage in meaningful partnerships to co-promote whether that be with brands/products, retailers, doctors offices, influencers, trade shows, etc.

What is one thing that would be game-changing for your business right now?

I'd love an opportunity to work with a digital media company as a baby gear editor to provide my product picks across different scenarios - travel, green, newborn, etc.

Why do you want to be a part of heymama?

As a mother, it's an incredible opportunity to be a part of a tribe as we all navigate the delicate balance of career and motherhood. To have that support, understanding and friendship is everything!
