Nara Walker

Trailer Park Creative Producer Marketing Los Angeles, CA
About Nara
I am very proud mother of two rambunctious boys named Kai (4) and Odin (2). Prior to having my children, I worked for nearly 15-years in documentary and unscripted television programming -- a career which has taken me many place allover the world and has also provided its fare share of accolades included being part of a two-time Emmy-nominated team for the true crime documentary series "Cold Case Files". After spending nearly 15-years creating television shows, I switched gears to work in the digital space creating content for Multi-channel networks. I recently returned to work after a much needed break to start my family, and work on the marketing side at Trailer Park. While we are famously known for creating some of the most creative theatrical trailers, key art and entertainment marketing campaigns -- our work here extends beyond that, we create a myriad of content to help brands better articulate their voice and connect with consumers in a very tangible way. My husband is also in the business and is a Director of Photography for unscripted programming -- and yes -- we might while working together on a job! :)

What special skill, talent or gift would you like to give back to the community?

I'm always happy to give back through writing, making videos, or sharing any insight that I can. My husband and I do this often together and the projects are that much more fun when we collaborate together!

What is your biggest business challenge right now?

Marketing & Social Media

Why do you want to be a part of heymama?

I'm really interested in joining HeyMama chiefly for networking and learning opportunities. Since I've returned to work after taking a considerable break, I'm discovering that our methods of learning are so vastly different than when I was beginning my career. To that extent, sometimes these learnings aren't necessarily a product of being at a big corporation or having a college degree -- but are rather realized through trial, error, and being innovative. The Hey Mama network includes many women from diverse backgrounds, who have interesting stories about their career paths and best practices to share. I would value being part of this dialogue.

Additionally, while my 9-5 includes work here at Trailer Park, I am often asked by independent businesses to consult for them on brand strategy and creative direction. Helping others communicate their brand voice is a passion of mine and I would love to collaborate with other like-minded entrepreneurs and creative women in this effort.
