But First, Party! Hospitality Los Angeles, CA
About Royale
Hi, my name is Royale and I believe life should be lived with a cherry on top. I dreamed up my event design business, But First, Party!, when I realized that obsessively collecting washi tape, daily trips to the craft store (where you gotta use those coupons) and developing carpal tunnel from Pinterest pinning were not “normal” things.

Come what may. I do my best to take things as they come, rise to a challenge and come out the other side.

How many kids? Ages?

One; Stellan (3 years old)

Interested In

Business, Collaboration, Friendship, Playdates, Networking, Inspiration

Words you live by/quotes you love

"Come what may." I do my best to take things as they come, rise to a challenge and come out the other side.

Best advice you've ever been given

Keep saying yes!

What are three things people would be surprised to know about you?

I was raised in a conservative, Catholic home. I am what they call the black sheep of the family.

Personal Passions, Charities, Hobbies:

PETA and Sundance Institute--I love animals and independent cinema! I continue to support the organizations I've worked for through membership and participation in their events. I have been vegetarian/vegan for over half my life--18 years! I also love barre class, I think that is a hobby? Amateur photographer--husband is the professional.

What are your personal/brand goals for this year?

Specifically, I would like to be booking one party every weekend, and grow my Instagram following to 10K by September, my 1-year anniversary. Generally, I would love to make more connections with women in my industry and attract partnership opportunities with brands.

Name one thing that scares the shit out of you:

The death of a child. Morbid I know, but it is my greatest fear in life.

What is one thing that would be game-changing for your business right now?

The "business" side of things, like accounting, etc.

If you could tell your 20 year old self one thing, what would it be?

You don't have to stay at a corporate job in order to be successful. Build something for yourself now so that you have control over your career when it is time to start a family.

Why do you want to be a part of heymama?

Making "mom friends" was harder than I could have imagined. Very few of my pre-parenthood/longtime friends have children, so it was difficult to experience a lot of firsts on my own. I have been so fortunate to have since made some lovely connections with the mothers in my neighborhood, Silver Lake, and with families at my son's preschool, Camelot. I would love to meet even more moms, particularly those who are also small-business owners, which is why heymama is so appealing. I was SO thrilled to befriend Rachel of Bonjour Fete, and she and I have collaborated many times over in just a few short months. It is nice to be supported and support others who simply understand where you're coming from, both from a personal and professional standpoint.
