Tum Cohl

Hilarity for Charity & Stem Co-Founder (Hilarity); Communications & Events (Stem) Tech Los Angeles, California
About Tum
I am a single (Canadian) mom to my amazing daughter, Stella. I worked in music PR for many years but have always had an entrepreneurial passion - between starting a charity with Seth Rogen to benefit Alzheimer's disease (Hilarity for Charity), to launching a kids line of clothing (Love Me Baby), to producing video content for brands. Over the last year, I fell into consulting (brand development, content strategy, events) and although the flexibility was helpful with my child during my separation, I am a people person and work better surrounded by others. I recently joined the team at Stem full time which is a tech and music startup. I continue to produce video content for brands and run Hilarity for Charity with my amazing co-founders, but am embracing my transition to board member. I feel like there's more to this journey and am always keeping my eyes open to new and exciting opportunities.

What special skill, talent or gift would you like to give back to the community?

I am a connector. I can always identify two people that need to be brought together that might have never encountered one another otherwise. I get so much joy from seeing something new emerge from an introduction I have made.

What is your biggest business challenge right now?

Balance.

What do you want to achieve in 2018, personally and professionally?

Personally - More travel and adventure. Professionally - Find the right partner.

What is one thing that would be game-changing for your business right now?

The right partner.

Why do you want to be a part of heymama?

Since separating from my ex husband, I have been in search for a community that is both inspiring and supportive. I strongly believe in the notion that you are only as good as the company you keep and from what I've learned about the Hey Mama community, this is a selection of strong, ambitious, bright and collaborative women and mothers. I'd like to join forces with someone I might not have met yet, learn from people and share my own experiences to inspire and help others.
